That fricking ending…

I don’t know how anyone could listen to all the way to the end of the first chapter, it was so poorly written! I’ll try to keep this short, but…anyway, I know a lot of books, movies, these days, have a lot of cussing in them, but if someone is going to put these words in their book, they should at LEAST use them, how do I say this…in good taste? Other wise, it just makes the author look stupid. And so, before I finished listening to the first half of Chapter 1, I believe at least 5 cuss words were used (in poor taste).
Next thing, before I got halfway through Chapter 1, was the obvious stupidity, in almost EVERY paragraph…the husband Luke, sees a mushroom cloud in his rearview mirror, in his rented car, and he says “with luck, if the winds are right, the fallout MIGHT blow to the ocean”! But he’s gotta get home to his wife and kids, AND he notices San Francisco is totally GONE! And he says the fact that “radioactive fallout would cover hundreds of miles!” but he says the more room he can put between him, and the mushroom cloud, the better”…uuhh yeah, ain’t he so smart? Duh! But he SEES the mushroom cloud, and says that everyone on the road has stopped their vehicles, to STARE at this mushroom cloud!! Oh yeah, that’s the first I think everyone should do, when their driving on the road, right? NOT!
Anyway, I started writing down ALL the really stupid parts, and I even had to stop doing that, there were so many dumb parts…and the acting, of his wife, the babysitter, the wife’s best friend and her son? When they all knew, that a nuclear bomb had gone off in their state, and over many large cities, they acted like it happened every day!! I couldn’t take any more!! There’s not many books that I would stop at, before the first chapter is over, but THIS one??
Maybe it gets better, the people get more into what’s going on, and stop talking like it’s another day at the park, but I can’t even try to give it another chance…how can people say this book is good?? I can’t deal with anyone’s stupidity, without getting mad (even with myself sometimes, lol), and so this book is going where seldom an audiobook goes, in my pile of audiobooks I’ve heard over the years….in the trash! I wonder what kind of people, could make it to the end of the first chapter of this book, and don’t see anything wrong with it! But I REALLY want to know, is what’s wrong with the author, and what grade did he finish school??

joanofark, if you dont like it dont listen, let it go. There is a lot of crap out there, sometimes its the person that does the narration, maybe the author, who cares. Just move on, or I guess you could complain and ask for your money back. Oh wait………..
