1_You don’t always get a second chance… unless you’re a pawn for an eldritch horror that: (A) can bend time, and (B) is a sore loser. Justin Thyme is not a good man, nor one destined for glory. He was meant to die in obscurity, yet another level 82 Templar that was just about to get chewed up by a horde of skittering monstrosities clawing at humanity’s last enclave. One short conversation with a time-splitting monstrosity later, and Justin finds himself flung five years into the past—right when the Earth was first chosen to host the 9,947th Gladiatorial Games. Justin must now do all that he can to help save the world from crumbling under the twin pressures of monsters and murderers. But it’s not all about grinding experience, gaining the most levels, and kicking the most ass. He can’t even stand out too much, lest he draw the attention of the other eldritch horrors observing Earth’s struggles for their amusement. No, it’s all about making the right connections, sowing the seeds of hope, culling the pests causing despair… oh, and exploiting the hell out of the System with his ‘borrowed’ ability to tweak time to his advantage.
2_Third time’s the charm, right? You don’t always get another chance… unless you’ve just accidentally stolen some primordial essence from an eldritch horror that: (A) can bend time, and (B) was too busy eating another demigod to notice the loss. Justin Thyme is trying to be a better man, using his newly-expanded powers to give humanity a fighting chance in the 9,947th Pan-Universal Gladiatorial Games. He’s not just grinding out those levels and kicking monster ass, but he’s also putting down murderers like nobody’s business. Hell, Earth looks like it might even have a real shot at making it this time around! Except that someone isn’t too happy with Justin’s meddling in the games–someone powerful and working from the shadows to tear down everything he’s been building up. From strangely overgeared scalefolk assassins to suspiciously-timed accusations putting him out of commission at critical times, Justin soon finds out that a sharp sword and a thick shield won’t be enough when you’re playing in the big leagues. He’ll need all the help he can get, even if that help comes from some pretty unsavory sources. Will Justin stand by his morals, standing his ground in the face of adversity? Or will he decide that no compromise is too great when even his most egregious time-bending exploits aren’t enough to save the day?
*ChronoTemplar is a dark, crunchy litRPG with lots of stats, skills and battles, for those who love action and complex characters.

Thx prick, i tried to listen to this one, but it’s too system focus, i can’t really, listend for 1 hour and theres like 2 dialogs and the rest is the system explaning things that are absolute meaningless to the narative. Maybe someone else will enjoy it!

Book 2 works fine for me… Not sure if I’ll get that far or not. Despite the reviews, book 1 is poorly written. Some events are out of order (notifications are said to be turned off prior to the MC turning them off. Though we’re told what they would have said if they were turned on anyway…) and some content is repeated over and over. Yes, you already explained to us (and not even to another character but to us the readers) 6 times the math behind how monsters only give a little XP and humans give X+Y more. Plus the government does whatever the MC says for effectively no reason, the characters are poorly developed, and the forward time jumps come out of nowhere. One minute the MC is giving basic advice to the failing military and a minute later the government has saved itself from collapse and companies are pumping out war products. Some of the reviews complain about racism but I think the author was trying to show that racism always fails when faced with a common enemy. He just did a terrible job at it. The author also seems to have forgotten that if the American South won the civil war, the North would still exist as a different country. Rant over.
It’s nice this torrent included the audio and ebooks as well. Have 5 stars for that.
