Tina is a small business owner and knows what she wants in life. She and her furry companion find themselves at gunpoint when Rick walks back into her world and forever changes the dynamic between them.
One dog, who’s been the savior, protector, and companion… Opus. The owner of two humans that mostly understand him. Mostly.
When the police walk into an ambush, a series of events forces the couple to bug out. The problem with having to leave for a small town, at a remote location, is it really isn’t a secret. Small towns bring their own problems with crime, and power plays. Everybody knows everybody, and the gossip mill runs as fast as lightning.

Having said that.. WHERE IS THE SHTF???
Cringy awkward boy meets girl story with a magical dog that basically understands everything and is nearly able to speak. Hero’s main adversary is a zoning inspector that initially doesn’t want to give him permission to park his RV on his bugout property.
It’s basically a story of someone going camping to his bugout location and walking into some petty local grievances, having to hit a couple people in the face.
At the end of the book, hospitals and police are still up, phones and tv still work, the county plows his bugout location’s driveway… basically there is no SHTF of any kind in the entire book, despite the name and description.
I’ll try the second book, but god damn, this is one long and incredibly boring buildup.
