Fine let’s settle this, shall we?
As it stands today After the war, the Supreme Court endorsed Lincoln’s view on the constitutionality of secession. In 1868 Texas was a party to a case before the Court, Texas v. White, where the Court ruled that “when Texas became one of the United States, she entered into an indissoluble relation.” The Court put to rest any 10th amendment claims that states retain the right to leave the Union as they please, as Chief Justice Salmon Chase wrote that the Constitution, “in all its provisions, looks to an indestructible Union.”
It’s a 3 book story, a nice one and enjoyable if you like the genre.

I am giving these series 3 stars because of the narrator. OMG, where do I start?
Oh, I know: those of you who complain about Kevin Pierce obviously didn’t hear this guy :D
The main character of the book, who is Texas ranger, 6′4″ and 200+ lbs often sounds like a whiny bi.., I mean preteen (or narrator forgot to adjust his voice after he read through this character’s childhood memories).
All women, even police detective, sound exactly the same: like cheap wh… trying to seduce a “john”.
That said, the story isn’t bad and I really wanted to finish it (made it through almost 2 books), but the narrator killed it for me.
I will NEVER say a bad word about Kevin Pierce :)

I agree with MagicRunes. But I still loves this newer series. How this narrator continues to find work is impossible to understand…he’s terrible.
