Aftermath 1: A Nuclear War Survival Thriller
Length: 7 hrs and 29 mins
Nuclear war would be the war to end all wars. This is how the world ends. But …The real battle for survival was just beginning.
No one is immune from the horror of a war of extinction.
The living will envy the dead.
International bestselling author, Bobby Akart, one of America’s favorite storytellers, delivers up-all-night thrillers to over two million readers in 245 countries and territories worldwide.
Aftermath, book one in the Nuclear War series, delves into a chilling look where the pinnacle of human innovation turns into mankind’s greatest nightmare.
President John F. Kennedy once said, “Mankind must put an end to war or war will put an end to mankind.” Today, a new element has been introduced to the preparations—artificial intelligence. The United States, in its quest to rapidly and effectively defend the nation from a nuclear attack, has incorporated AI into its operation plan of response. But what if the artificial intelligence relied upon by the nation’s decision-makers is wrong? What if AI takes the controls of America’s nuclear response? Might it trigger nuclear war without justification? “There’s no such thing as a small nuclear war.”
When a series of unforeseen events trigger a cascade of errors in the AI algorithms, the delicate balance between geopolitical foes is shattered. In less than an hour, nuclear warheads begin to detonate across the Northern Hemisphere from the Far East to Russia to Europe to the United States. The aftermath yields the expected result. The gates of hell have been thrust open and ordinary citizens pay the price as they discover nuclear war may kill millions but the aftermath, nuclear winter, will kill billions.
Aftermath is a gripping technothriller that explores the dangers of unchecked technological advancement and the profound implications of placing too much reliance on artificial intelligence. It prompts the listener to ask, “With AI, are we summoning the demon and giving it control?”

Couldn’t get through through the prolog. Narator kept saying nu-cu-lar. Drove me crazy. It’s nu-clear ffs. You write a book about nuclear war and dont make sure the narrator can pronounce the work said every second sentence?

There are two ways to pronounce nuclear. 1 is USA the other is British.
Both are correct.
It depends on which country you are living in

Thanks Cardes! I’m sure Ill get through it with either pronunciation of nuclear!

It will be okay.

Nuclear - being or using the power of NUCLEUS of an atom. Nucleus, threfore, NUCLEAR; not nukilus and nukilar.
Agree with Gjtdcvbj, it drives me crazy when people mispronounce the word and say “everyone in our area says it like that”. Sad.
I person said it wrong, the others did not bother to check or correct him/her and the whole area started saying “nukilar”, the word became a dialect. The film “Idiocracy” becomes reality in front of our eyes :(
Cardes, thank you, I appreciate your work, but I have to skip this time.

MagicRunes, let us know when your novel about American collapse, due to mispronounced words, is published. I’ll be sure to run out and buy a copy…to be kept in my bathroom for backup ass wipe.
Your book will likely suck since you have already demonstrated that you do not know the difference between a symptom of collapse vs a root cause.
The great American dumb down is a symptom.
When it really hits big time, arrogant hair splitting snobs will be among the first to go….and hard
Thanks Cardes. I love books about Newclickler war.
