It’s a good Sci-Fi book.
But “geostationary orbit” around Ganymede is an author’s mistake.
Ganymede is tidally locked with Jupiter and radius of such geostationary orbit would be greater than radius of Ganymede’s orbit itself.
But, I think, it’s possible to build a space elevator from Ganymede to L1/L2 (Lagrange points). So, scientifically, only the “geostationary orbit” is a blunder, not the space elevator.
